The season started later than usual, considering the changing weather patterns, with the wealthiest individuals in the world and their celebrity friends just now arriving to anchor outside Gustavia, St. Maarten, Antigua, and neighboring islands. Many will stay through Christmas, taking glamorous day trips to nearby islands, and then party with the traditional fireworks show above St. Barts Fort Oscar on New Year's Eve.
Superyachts near St Barth usually send their guests to the port via tender to numerous exclusive parties while hosting private celebrations onboard. Wealthy visitors also rent expensive villas with elite concierge services to give them access to the best tables.
According to insiders, this year's best New Year's Eve parties are at La Petite Plage, Bagatelle, and La Guerite in Gustavia. In St. Jean, the celebrities will be out in force at Nikki Beach and Eden Rock.
